This is a true rarity. A Colt 1st Model that is not just sharp and crisp, but it absolutely has the best cylinder scene I have ever seen on just about ANY model dragoon. The gun has seen little use and is fully sub-inspected. The grips show a faint cartouche on the left side and just traces on the right. From the feel of the grips and their fine condition, I'd say that they were thinned on purpose to accomodate the hand that used it. All edges markings and action are nearly crisp as new. The scene is so outstanding, you can see hordes of soldiers and Indians in the backround down to the finest detail. A fine condition 1st Model with less than half of its finish recently sold at auction in the $80,000.00 range. For the price, I like this big gun much better. It is stunning.
