This is a nice condition Colt 1860 Army Revolver as purchased by the U. S. Government for issue to U. S. and State Volunteer troops, primarily Cavalry, during the Civil War. It shows generous traces of original blue on the barrel and cylinder with perhaps 50% light case-colors visible on the frame and hammer, the balance an untouched patina. The cylinder scene is very fine and deep and the grips are fine with nice cartouches. The gun has a crisp action. Month by month over the last few years, it's getting more difficult to find these guns in this condition.
