CIVIL WAR SPENCER RIFLE IN DESIRABLE SERIAL NUMBER RANGE.
This old veteran was used hard and put up wet. It is in the early 5000 serial number range and was most likely issued to a member of the famed Wilder's Brigade, the specialty shock troops that we hear about on the history channel and that untold volumes of information is avalable on in both books and on the internet. BERDAN SHARPS RIFLE, Civil War Longarm
This is one of possibly the most famous and sought-after longarms used during the Civil War. Hiram Berdan, for who the rifle is named, used his recognition and influence to persuade the Federal government to allow him to establish a regiment of Sharpshooters and specialized marksmen to act as "shock troops" similar to today's "special forces" such as the "Green Berets" and "Navy Seals". CONFEDERATE CIVIL WAR CARBINE. MORSE CARBINE MANUFACTURED FOR SOUTH CAROLINA & THE CONFEDERACY.
A really super condition Morse carbine with beautiful, untouched patina to the brass, smooth iron parts and about the finest Tiger-striped maple stock I've seen on one of these popular Confederate Carbines. This easy breech-loader was as popular with Confederate troops as it is today with collectors. CLICK HERE FOR ADDITIONAL PHOTOS AND INFORMATION
