This is an over-all good condition carbine in gray patina. The wood is a little dry but would look much nicer with just a little oil and some hand rubbing. It shows a faint cartouche to the left side of the stock and the entire gun shows use, but no damage. The nipple is broken off (easily replaced) and the hammer will not hold its half or full cock. The bore is rusty but shows strong rifling. This is a good project gun for someone on a budget that has the time to convert this into a very good collector carbine used by Cavalry Troopers during the Civil War. And it can be done at this very good price.
