Confederate Cavalry Officer's Saber for Sale by Isaac Campbell & Company - Lot #4595

It is well documented that S. Isaac Campbell & Company supplied Confederate Cavalry Officer's Sabers such as this to the Confederacy. It is etched with the Confederate Eagle surmounted by stars and the mark of "S. Isaac, Campbell & Co., 71 Jermyn St. London". is etched onto the ricasso. Working through Major Caleb Huse, Samuel Isaac provided millions of dollars’ worth of arms and equipment through the blockades. This example is in very acceptable condition with all of its sharkskin grip with triple-strand wire intact, a nicely etch blade showing with some scattered staining and roughness that doesn't obscure the etching and a solid, un-dented scabbard that is in a crusty patina that could be easily but carefully cleaned to be more presentable. Confederate Cavalry Officer's Sabers are becoming quite difficult to find and this is a very nice example.
