REMINGTON OVER-UNDER DERINGERS, FACTORY ENGRAVED - Lot #4670

Here is a pair of guns you may never see the likes of again. This is a consecutively numbered pair of early Remington Deringers (Type 1, Model 2) and they are as rare as can be. I believe them to be of a cased set, or cased separately for man and wife. The first is a barn-burner with factory, exhibition-grade scroll engraving covering nearly 100% of its surface, a feature only seen on the highest grade presentation pieces. It shows 95% original nickel plating on the left side and about 20% on the right, where it undoubtedly laid on its side for decades. It shows very little use and beautiful factory pearl grips. The second gun shows standard factory engraving with rose-wood grips. It shows use and carry retaining less than 20% original nickel plating, but is still in sharp, crisp condition. It is missing its barrel release (an original can be easily found). Both guns have perfect hinges and the two-line barrel address. These should be cared for and cased by someone that appreciates high-quality Remington Arms.
