REVOLUTIONARY WAR CLUB-BUTT FOWLER. - Lot #S3306

This is a totally untouched gun right out-of-the-woods that is probably a New England product, 1740 - 1770. The stock is made of Cherry and it retains all of its original red piano varnish. It does have some pretty good chipping on the upper edge of the stock on both sides that has some putty filler. This could, and should be removed and left as-is or be fixed by a competant restoration artist. The metal is all original, unmarked and in extremely fine condition including the original flintlock. Reminds me of a gun that would have been shipboard and used by rough & tumble Buccaneers.
