I can't tell you how rare this item is to find. I just hope a buyer is not. We all know about and love a fine Pipe Tomahawk when it comes to the market. This is just a plain hawk, but from the form of the blade and haft, it presents itself as mid to late 19th century and is not an Indian product nor that of a fine craftsman. It is the type made for the pioneer and mountain man who needed a good strong hand axe and fighting piece without the frills. It can probably be dated by an expert in the field, but I'm not that person. Regardless, it is early, 100% original, and I'll back it to any expert a buyer may present it to.
