I've had customers interested in these types of guns before, until some knucklehead tells them that all 61 Navies have Martial Markings and U.S. stamped on the frame. Nothing can be further from the truth, and this information can be found in Flaydermans Guide or most any good book on Colts. It has been common knowledge to even the most novice of Colt collectors for years. In 25 years of study, I have only seen 1 of maybe 20, 61's with US on the frame that I thought "MIGHT" be original. This 61, is 100% original with the exception of the wedge. It retains 75 - 80% original military blue on the barrel and cylinder, 85% case colors and fine full oil finished grips. It has a near perfect scene and the factory letter states it was shipped to Lt. Col. G. D. Ramsey at the Washington Arsenal on October 14, 1861 with 100 guns in the shipment, attesting to its rarity. This is a great addition to any collection.
