This is the well-known favorite 1851 Colt Navy Revolver of Civil War Officers as well as outlaws and gunfighters of the western expansion after the Civil War. This example is in fine condition that shows well, but with a good cleaning would be a really nice gun. It retains about 60 -70% original blue on the barrel and the slightest traces on the cylinder. Traces of case colors on the frame, hammer and lever. Almost all the cylinder scene is showing and grips show 90% original varnish. The balance of the metal surfaces are a brown patina. The gun comes with the original period flap holster that it was found with. It is in the 180XXX range and issued after the Civil War.
