This is an extremely crisp and sound pair of Civil War Era Colt Army Revolvers. They are identified and accompanied with a Civil War Telescope and were owned and carried by Captain Erasmus C. Dunning who served in the 1st Delaware Cavalry during the Civil War, working his way to Captain and commander of his Regiment. He served at Westminster, Gettysburg and the Siege of Petersburg. He later finished studying medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and served as an assistant surgeon in the U. S. Navy until his sudden death in 1868. The Colt Revolvers and the telescope accompanying them were handed down through Dunning's ancestors and a notarized letter of provenance accompanies the artifacts signed by his great-great-grandson. The scope is near mint and the guns are super sharp with most of their cylinder scene (a light roll) and near perfect markings, edges and actions. Note; Each of these guns is mismatched. They are priced appropriately as arsenal re-fit, but with the history, they are a bargain. These guns were purchased from us a few months ago and attracted a lot of interest. We just took them back in on trade for a Dragoon and they are now available once again.
