ETCHED PANEL COLT 44-40 SINGLE ACTION. - Lot #4300

As most subscribers to my website are well-aware, I don't handle many single-actions due to the number of faked and fiddled-with guns that I see on the market. The few I do handle are usually doozies and this one falls into that very catagory. This gun is out of the Bud Clark collection in Michigan. It is an attic-mint specimen that has never been touched, cleaned or enhanced in any way since its period of practical use, and it is beautifull. The panel scene, screw heads and all markings are near perfect and the gun shows traces of blue and case colors mixing with a deep, blue/brown patina. The grips are nearly flat mint save for a few handling marks and would fit nicely on a $30,000 early S/A. This is a great single-action and if you've been waiting for a really nice, untouched one that has no flies or red flags waving over it, this is the gun. It deserves to be in a finely carved rig and a new home.
