This is a wonderful and nearly mint First Model or Frontier D.A. Model 44 Smith & Wesson (also known as New Model D. A.) As you can see, it's nearly mint and factory engraved. The finish is 99% save for a few little specs of brown patina where flaked. These flaked areas are usually cleaned to bright to enhance a gun, but such cleaning detracts from the look and value of an untouched antique gun. Belle Starr carried one of these and John Wesley Hardin was shot dead holding one. This is the real deal and it doesn't get much better.
