I don't know who did the decorative treatments on this gun, but it is awesome and of the period. I believe this to have been made as a presentation gift to an American Indian or possibly to a member of a Wild West Show. I have never, in 30 years of collecting seen anything quite like it and I guarantee that the work is period. The work is virtually perfect and done "back in-the-day". The gun is crisp as new with a perfect mirror bore and shows little use. The blue has somehow been removed without the slightest hint of sanding or polishing but shows blue on the interior so it didn't leave the factory in the bright. Someone fashioned the gun for it to appear as it does, bright, colorful and beautiful. Really an unusual Winchester that someone was very proud to carry.
