This is a wonderful little pair of British muff pistols with screw-off barrels made by Thomas Hutchinson of London, who was a premier gunmaker of the early 1800's. Hutchinson is well noted as teaching a young James Purdy the unmaking trade that later flourished into the famed Purdy Firearms that are so popular today. OFFICERS SADDLE STIRRUPS, WAR OF 1812 - CIVIL WAR
This is a good condition pair of Mounted Officer's Saddle Stirrups as used by high ranking Federal and Volunteer Officers as early as the War of 1812 and used through the Civil War.
