CIVIL WAR CONFEDERATE LeMAT REVOLVER - HOLSTER - Lot #0152

One of our great finds of last year, we have decided to sell this great item as we can't keep them all. The gun (in the 13XX range) is in near excellent condition, retaining over 50% original bluing about the frame, barrel and cylinder. The checkered grips are excellent. The original arsenal holster which this gun has been in for over 150 years is also outstanding, and its aged shape and form attest that it has been home to this massive grapeshot revolver for the duration. A notarized letter from the person that bought this rig from the decendants of George W. Mercer, late of Company H, 55th Virginia Infantry attests to its origin. The gun and holster are mentioned in the addendum to the latest book on LeMats by Doug Adams. Confederate history at its best.
