The Jacob Rupertus Pepperbox Pistol is extremely difficult to locate in fine condition. I believe from what I've seen of these rare pistols that this is one of the better examples, with ivory grips as a bonus. Rupertus founded the Rupertus Patented Pistol Manufacturing Company in Philadelphia, 1924 North 4th Street, which was active between 1859 and 1899. On July 19, 1864 he received the US patent No.43.606 for a revolver with a rotating multi-shot barrel, this being an example. This gun has original ivory grips and shows traces of bright blue in a few of the cylinder flutes. The right grip has a repaired break, but other than that, this is a really nice little gun. Markings and edges are very crisp and the action works just fine.
