This is a good condition for barrel pepper box pistol designed by Eben T. Starr of Yonkers New York. They were manufactured by the Merrill patent firearms Manufacturing Company of Baltimore, Maryland and about 1500 of the fourth and fifth models were completed from 1864 to 1869. Although these guns are not considered particularly rare they are extremely interesting due to their pushbutton triggers. This one's in good condition with the exception of a replaced hammer. It retains no original finish
