Colt Revolving Rifles have become a rare commodity these days, we all are aware of it due to the limited number offered at auctions, gun shows and websites such as this one. Finding one like this however, is tougher than finding a Colt Walker Revolver. This gun is awesome. At first glance, it looks like the rare Colt Revolving Artillery Carbine, but we'd be wrong to assume that to be fact. It's actually a Colt Revolving Military Rifle in 56 caliber with a short 21" barrel. With its original bayonet and sling swivels, it is truly a rare bird. Best of all, it has condition. The barrel on this gun shows 96 - 97% beautiful original bluing. The frame slightly less at 92 - 94% with just a slight hint of mixed and aged patina. The cylinder shows approximately 20 - 25% blue in protected areas and cylinder flutes and the wood is wonderful, showing virtually all of its piano varnish finish that shows slight darkening where the wood meets the metal due to oil creepage. The gun shows only minimal wear and only the slightest of nicks and dings. The bayonet has an excellent blade and its scabbard shows flaking to the leather. This is a super rare gun that had very limited production and is a premium collectible worthy of the finest collection.
