This is a wonderful, Confederate Mitchell and Tyler Foot Officers Sword that was partially manufactured by Boyle & Gamble for the famed Jeweler and Outfitter of Military Products in Richmond, Virginia during the conflict. This sword is an old friend that has "come home to roost". It's unique combination of features including silver-plated pewter grip, silver-foiled scabbard, fire-blued and gold washed blade, etch presentation and history make it one of the rarest and most desirable of swords and possibly the rarest configuration of Sauerbier known to exist, even topping the famed Kilpatrick Cavalry Sabre of similar (but not as pretty) design.
