This is an absolutely beautiful and untouched gun, sent to us by a gentleman from Paterson, N. J. a few years ago. I have kept it because I liked him, as well as the gun. It was the only gun he owned. It is untouched, and although not mint, the gun, case and all accessories are in wonderful condition. The barrel shows 95% bright blue and the cylinder 80%, with the only finish missing being around areas of the cylinder scene (now with some blue turned to a blue brown patina) and a drag line between the cylinder stops. The frame shows about 80% fading case colors and the lever and hammer have faded to maybe 40% color. Grips are near mint. The case is one of the best I've ever owned, as is the wrench, mold, cap tin and case interior. The flask is excellent. Some dealers may have plucked a few of these items to enhance a set of their own, but I couldn't do that to such a nice set. It's all original and a rare find. If you want a big frame Colt that arrives to your collection as it left the factory in the 1860's, this is a good one.
